If you know a car you, know a lot of our time is spent driving our cars. Some people pretty much live out of their cars because most of their time is done driving, whether it’s for work, travel, or a general admiration for the open road. That being said, whether you have a new car or a used car, it’s important to know how to take care of your cars so that there is less wear and tear and they last longer.
The last thing you want for your car is to become beat up and broken because you didn’t take care of it the correct way. We have some tips you can use in order to keep your car clean, drive safely, and act in critical situations.
- Homemade De-Ice Spray – This is a simple two-part spray to remove the ice from your windshield and windows in the wintertime. You simply have to get a spray bottle, fill 1/3 of it with water and fill the remainder with isopropyl alcohol. Shake it up and it’s ready for use.
- Coffee Filter Cleaner – It sounds crazy but it works! Rather than use rags that don’t always do the job, you can use a coffee filter to make your new or used car look squeaky-clean. You take the coffee filter, dab it in some olive oil and begin the cleaning process. This also works with other cleaning solutions.
- Clean Water Spots and Stains – Water spots and stains are especially prevalent in used cars that have seen a lot in their time. The best way to do this is by adding equal parts of club soda, white vinegar, and dish soap. Put the concoction into a spray bottle, shake, spray, spray, spray and scrub you’re your seats with a towel.
- How to Get Unstuck – If you’re ever in a jam where you’re stuck in ice, mud, or sad, there is a special mat that you can rely on to get you out of it. When you have a used car and the tires are worn, you can find your car is more prone to getting stuck. A treaded mat has links on it that grip to the ground while also giving your wheels traction.
- Make Your Tires and Rims Look New – When you have a used car, it is especially common for your tires and rims to look worn out and aged. To get them looking brand new, simply mix 1 half-cup baking soda, 1 tablespoon of any brand of dish soap and 2 cups of warm water. You can use a sponge or towel to gently scrub them before hosing them down to reveal new looking tires.
